Poe visits Framlingham, England! See the 1623 English Home of the Framingham, Massachusetts Founding Father as it is today!

While in England this year, I had the opportunity to visit Framlingham (Notice the “L”), England. This is the 17th century home of Nicholas Danforth in Framlingham. He was the father of Thomas Danforth and both arrived in Massachusetts when Thomas was about age 10 around 1633. Though born in England,   Thomas Danforth has a long and proud history in the the original Province of Massachusetts including helping to establish Harvard, becoming the President of Maine (which was part of Mass), becoming Massachusetts’ Attorney General, presiding over the Salem Witch Trials and the list goes on.

He acquired 14000 Acres in the late 1600’s. The majority of which has now become the town of Framingham. A dream of his from the lands earliest acquisition.

I will post much more on Thomas Danforth here. Although he is much too early to relate to Toll of the Liberty Bell, the lands he once owned make up the home of our protagonist, Charles Knightley. Perhaps I may find a spot to add this information into the book.
